Pacific Resilience Meeting

A unique platform to strengthen climate and disaster resilience across the Pacific region.

What is the PRM?

The Pacific Resilience Meeting (PRM) is a key regional gathering designed to strengthen coordination on climate change and disaster resilience.

It brings together communities, governments, civil society, and youth from across the Pacific to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and build a more resilient future.

Our Principles

Our work is guided by values that place people, culture, and sustainability at the center. These principles ensure that resilience in the Pacific is inclusive, future-focused, and grounded in what makes our region unique.

Put Risk and Resilience in a Development Perspective

We ensure that resilience is not treated as a stand-alone issue but embedded at the core of all development planning and decision-making.

Protect Human Rights

Every action to strengthen resilience must safeguard dignity, equity, and the rights of all people across the Pacific.

Prioritize the Most Vulnerable

Communities at greatest risk must be placed at the center of planning, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Integrate Gender and Social Considerations

Resilience requires inclusivity—addressing gender, age, disability, and other social dimensions in every initiative.

Value Culture, Faith, and Traditional Knowledge

Indigenous knowledge systems, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs are powerful assets for resilience and must be respected and harnessed.

Focus on Sustainability and Resilience in the Pacific

Efforts must aim at long-term environmental, social, and economic sustainability that secures the future of the Blue Pacific.

Build Genuine and Enduring Partnerships

True resilience is only possible when partnerships are collaborative, equitable, and enduring across all levels of society.

Our Objectives

The Pacific Resilience Meeting goes beyond dialogue — it’s about action. Our objectives are designed to inspire collaboration, empower communities, and accelerate practical solutions for a resilient Pacific future.

Showcase Progress Stories

Highlight inspiring achievements and lessons learned under the FRDP to motivate action and replication across the Pacific.

Engage and Empower Youth

Promote the Pacific Resilience Standards and partnership affiliation.

Unite governments, communities, and partners to move forward together toward a resilient Blue Pacific.

A Different Process

Unlike traditional top-down approaches, the PRM is guided by a multi-stakeholder organizing committee.

This inclusive model ensures broad representation from governments, local organizations, civil society, and youth, fostering:

  • Shared ownership and accountability.
  • Greater trust and legitimacy.
  • More holistic and sustainable outcomes.

Inspiration and Community

The PRM is more than just a meeting—it is a platform for learning, sharing, and collective action.

Together, we are shaping a stronger, more inclusive, and resilient Blue Pacific.
